FAQs

What is Soap?
Soap is a cleansing agent. It is a substance used with water for washing and cleaning, made of a compound of natural oils or fats with sodium hydroxide or another strong alkali, and typically having perfume and coloring added.  The sodium hydroxide, or lye, chemically reacts with the oils and fats which results in forming soap and glycerin in a process called saponification.  Once soap is saponified, no lye remains.

Is the price per bar or the price for how ever many are pictured?
The price is per bar.  For example, if the picture shows 3 bars and price says $5, it is $5 PER BAR.  The picture of 3 is for aesthetic value and to show that the bars will vary.

Do you do custom orders?
YES! I love you help make your occasions special by helping your ideas come to life!  Remember, I am making these by hand so ample time should be given for creation time.  This includes baking, decorating, and (if soap) 5 weeks for curing. Contact me for additional information on pricing and timelines.

Will my soap look exactly like yours on the website?
It will look similar but not exact.  All soaps are made by hand in small batches and due to this the color and patterns may vary slightly per bar.  Bars are also hand cut which means they may vary slightly in weight as well.

Is your soap Vegan?
No-most of my soaps contain lard which is a product of pork.

How do I care for my handmade soaps?
Handmade soaps will last much longer if allowed to dry between uses.  To keep your soap as long as possible use a soap dish or rack that provides plenty of drainage and air circulation.
To store soaps-store in a cool, dry location that allows for air circulation
The older soap is the better it often becomes.  However, the scent may fade over time.  It is best to try to use the soap withing a year for scent retention purposes.
Keep out of direct sunlight
To store several soaps, put similar scents together as some may overpower or leach into other soaps.
